The Detroit Lions are getting their quarterback and some fantasy football owners will too as Matthew Stafford is taking all first team reps and appears to be on track to start on Sunday. Stafford has been out since Week 1 after suffering a shoulder injury against the Bears.
Fantasy Football, Week 8: Matthew Stafford Expected To Return To Lions Lineup
The Lions face the Washington Redskins in Week 8 and the stats say that should be a good return game for Stafford. The Redskins are currently 31st against in the NFL against the pass and, according to Rotoworld, last in the NFC in 20-plus yard completions given up.
Stafford's return should also help WR Calvin Johnson. He's already on pace for a solid year but Stafford's arm should give him even more opportunities.
I’m always a little hesitant to return to my fantasy lineup players who are coming off of injury. I just think there’s a lot to be said for getting acclimated to the speed of the game. That said, this appears to be a very good matchup for Stafford.
