Fantasy Football News Roundup, Week 8: Questioning The Questionable Favre
Checking in on the fantasy news of the day for Week 8
-- Will Brett Favre continue his start streak, or will Tarvaris Jackson get the call? More importantly, does anybody trust Favre enough to keep playing him at this point? When the drafting was done long ago, based on his 2009 season, Favre was a pretty decent option for a QB1. When the Vikes traded for Randy Moss, hope was revived for Brett. Now, with the ankle injuries, it’s questionable whether he’ll start in Week 8. Even some Vikings fans are calling for Tarvaris Jackson this week, even if Brett can play.
-- Over in Tennessee, it looks like Vince Young could be ready to go this week. But with backup quarterback Kerry Collins throwing for 276 yards and three touchdowns last week, the question is whether fantasy owners want Young back. If you had Collins as a handcuff, you had to pretty pleased with his performance last week.
-- Terrell Owens is back as a viable fantasy player. Over the past few weeks, he’s been putting up solid fantasy numbers, and that should continue this week. The Bengals take on Miami, and the Dolphins secondary has been burned by top-flight receivers the last two weeks. Last year, as a member of the Bills, T.O. had a good day against Miami - 96 yards and one touchdown. T.O. is a strong play this week.
-- Don’t look now, but could it be more hamstring problems for Knowshon Moreno? Report:
RB Knowshon Moreno was seen grabbing his right hamstring just above the knee and talking to the team’s head trainer at the end of the open media period at practice Wednesday.
-- Yahoo takes a look at re-doing the 2010 fantasy draft based on what we know today. Sure, you might not want to re-live your draft if your season has gone the way of the Dallas Cowboys 2010 season, but it’s a fun exercise to see where your roster stacks up today, with the reality of the season in full swing.
