A number of fantasy football stars will hit your bench this week as the Falcons, Ravens, Bears, Browns, Giants and Eagles all have the bye on the NFL schedule. So here is a list of players who have the week off and recommended replacements to get -- or keep -- your fantasy football team in the winner's circle.
Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Donald Brown Could Fill Bye-Week Roster Holes
With the Falcons, Ravens, Bears, Browns, Giants and Eagles on the NFL bye week, here are a few replacements that can help your fantasy football team win.
Off: Matt Ryan, Atlanta
Waiver Pickup: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buffalo
With Matty Ice on a bye this week, Fitzpatrick is a steal if he's still available. Since replacing Trent Edwards at the Start of Week 3, Fitzpatrick has done nothing but impress by throwing 11 touchdowns to just four interceptions, including a 382 yard, four touchdown offensive explosion last week against an excellent Ravens' defense.
Off: Matt Forte, Chicago
Waiver Pickup: Donald Brown, Colts
With Joseph Addai's status as questionable for this week's Monday nighter against the Texans, Donald Brown would be a great second option if he takes over as the starting back for the week. Owned in just 29 percent of Yahoo! Sports leagues, Brown could be a fantasy stud against a Texans' defense who rank dead last in the league in total yards per game.
Off: Ahmad Bradshaw, Giants
Waiver Pickup: Tim Hightower, Cardinals
The only thing that could stop Bradshaw from having another excellent fantasy day is the bye week. Although Hightower may not get a ton of carries this week, he definitely has a favorable matchup going up against a Buccaneers Defense that allows 157.7 yards a game, second to worst in the league.
Off: Joe Flacco, Ravens
With Flacco out this week, look for Kitna to have a good week against a Jag’s defense that ranks 27th in passing. If you’re struggling in the QB department, Kitna will most likely be the starter for the rest of the fantasy season.
Off: Hakeem Nicks, Giants
Waiver Pickup: Davone Bess, Dolphins
Nicks has exploded through the first part of the fantasy season with eight touchdowns in seven weeks. Unfortunately he's out this week. However, Davone Bess has been a solid fantasy threat in the last three games, scoring touchdowns in all of them. Look for Bess to have a good week against a weak Patriots defense which ranks 30th in passing.
