Your top five fantasy tight end projections for Week 8.
Fantasy Football Projections Week 8: Tight Ends
Antonio Gates (vs Ten) - We might as well lock Gates in at the top spot for the rest of the year. Even last week, when we thought he might be dinged-up and not play that well, he still produced (50 yards, 1 TD). Gates is the top receiving tight end going right now.
Projection: 117yds, 1 TD
Vernon Davis (vs. Den ) - For four straight weeks, Vernon Davis has found the endzone. He's got a new quarterback this week, and inexperienced quarterbacks love to throw tight ends. Shorter throws mean less chance of a mistake. Davis benefits.
Projection: 91 yds, 1 TD
Jason Witten (vs. Jax) - Aging quarterbacks who aren't very mobile also love to throw to tight ends. Get the pass out before getting clobbered. With Jon Kitna taking over in Dallas, and a Cowboys line that has had trouble blocking, Jason Witten should see a lot of action.
Projection: 86 yds, 1 TD
Chris Cooley (@ Det) - Cooley is targeted a lot by Donovan McNabb, but he's had trouble hitting paydirt this season. He only has two touchdowns on the season. He gets his third this week.
Projection: 74 yds, 1 TD
