Check your fantasy football lineups, particularly the waiver wire. You may find a surprise there this week. That's because Vikings WR Sidney Rice -- who has yet to play this year -- plans to play on Sunday against the Packers.
Sidney Rice Plans To Play Week 11 For Vikings; Should Fantasy Football Care?
“I’m going to play,” Rice said after what he considered a strong week of practice. “I don’t think I can go the whole game but I’m going to play as much as I can.”
Rice has been out the entire season with a hip injury and is just now returning. Vikings coach Brad Childress said this week that if Rice wasn’t active for Sunday’s game, he would likely be shelved for the entire season.
Rice won't be as valuable as he was last year because QB Brett Favre isn't exactly lighting it up. It also sounds like he won't see a full compliment of snaps on Sunday so don't expect much out of him.
Rice is worth keeping on your roster down the stretch now that he’s healthy but you may want to wait a week to see how the Vikings are going to work him back into the lineup.
