Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Rankings, Week 9: Redskins Running Back Woes
So who should you pick up off the waiver wire in Week 9? We collected the sources for you, and present a Top 10 pickups list.
We talked earlier about some of the waiver wire adds you should be looking at, now we got a few more to add.
- Over in Washington, the Redskins can't keep their running backs on the field either by choice or injury. They had Larry Johnson and Willie Parker, but dumped them early. They lost Clinton Portis to injury, prompting a mid-season waiver wire gem in Ryan Torain. Now, Torain has a bum hamstring, meaning that if the Redskins played this week, unknown rookie Keiland Williams would probably be their featured back. Fortunately for them, they have a bye, but there's no guarantee either Portis or Torain will be able to go by then. If not, you could add a running back who will be starting and featured, which is a pretty rare add this time of year. But, keep an eye on the injury situation, Keiland Williams might not play for long, if at all.
- Now that Dallas Clark is injured, someone has to play tight end in Indy. That guy is Jacob Tamme. Last night against the Texans he hauled in a touchdown to go with 64 yards. Almost anybody who lines up over there for Peyton Manning is likely to be productive, and Tamme looks like he will.
- If you can live with 250 or so yards and one touchdown from a QB who handles bye week or injury duties on your roster, then Tampa Bay's Josh Freeman is your man. Freeman has been remarkably consistent over the last month, so you pretty much know what you're getting.
