Vincent Jackson has been a commodity salted away by savvy fantasy football owners even before the regular season started. Even though the Chargers receiver faced suspension and a contract stand-off with his team, he was a late round pick by many owners anticipating a steal for an elite receiver who would miss at most about four games.

Except Jackson’s contract dispute never really got resolved. And thus more than a few of those fantasy owners who took a late flyer on Jackson ended up dumping him a few weeks into the season. Then came the news that Jackson signed a one-year deal and would appear in the Chargers’ final six games.
Those who were hopeful enough to keep him on the roster or even pounced on him when the news of the one-year deal came will now be rewarded as Jackson returns to the lineup in San Diego’s Week 12 game against Indianapolis. Even though Jackson has missed nearly two-thirds of the season, he should have a considerable impact.
Not only have head coach Norv Turner said that Jackson figures to have a big impact, but fellow Chargers wide receiver Patrick Crayton, who has excelled in recent weeks, suffered a dislocated wrist during the Monday night win against the Broncos. That should free up even more looks in the passing game for Jackson. There should be some concerns of Jackson being slightly rusty coming in, but Rivers and Jackson have played together long enough that being extremely out of sync shouldn’t be that big of a concern.
