Fantasy Football Deep Sleepers, Week 12: S’more Graham, Please!

Inject some life into your roster with a few guys whose stock is rising

With 11 weeks in the book and a Week 11 that was light on injuries, there isn’t a lot on your waiver wire that you don’t know about. Here are a few names you may have passed over or may not even know.

TE Jimmy Graham (NO) - We featured Graham last week and we’re doing it again. With Jeremy Shockey dealing with yet another injury, Graham stepped in and led all Saint TE’s with 5 grabs on 8 looks. His 72 yards were second only to fantasy stud Marques Colston. We’re gushing over this athletic rookie’s prospects for the coming years in a Drew Brees-led offense. In fact, this writer is going so bold as to say that Graham will be a 2011 top-8 TE! He should be stashed in any league that allows in-season adds to be eligible as keepers. Shockey has always been injury prone, but his age makes an even riskier proposition the rest of the way. We like Graham to be added in all leagues of 12 teams or more as next years’ breakout that is already paying some fantasy dividends as your playoffs approach. The sky is the limit for this kid. You heard it here first.

WR Donald Jones (BUF) - One of the best storylines in fantasy football this season is the effect that QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has had on the Bills offense. Steve Johnson has become an every week starter and Lee Evans is relevant again after a preseason where anyone not named C.J. Spiller was seen as a fantasy pariah. We can add Jones to the growing list of acceptable-to-roster Bills, who has assumed slot duties after Roscoe Parrish was lost to injury. As long as Fitzpatrick keeps this offense moving, Jones makes for an intriguing add for depth and possible spot start. With the aforementioned Johnson drawing safety coverage and Fred Jackson keeping defenses honest, Jones should find room to operate over the middle as a sneaky WR play in leagues that award points per reception.

TE Bo Scaife (TEN) - The Randy Moss signing hasn’t just opened things up for Nate Washington. Scaife has 11 catches and over 100 yards in his last two contests, with Moss in the lineup for both. Before that, Scaife managed just 19 catches and 179 yards in 8 games. With another QB change upon the Titans, it’s likely that Scaife continues his recent string of success.
