Randy Moss is headed to the Tennessee after the Titans were awarded a waiver claim on the former Vikings receiver. The Titans are on a bye in Week 9 so he'll have an extra week to prepare for Week 10 against the Dolphins and the rest of the season.
Randy Moss Claimed By Titans Means Chris Johnson Gets Fantasy Football Boost
We don't expect there to be a huge fantasy football impact from this move on Randy Moss. He has 313 yards and five TDs through seven games. In the early goings, he'll play without Kenny Britt, who has already been ruled out for Week 10. Britt has seven TDs through six games so Moss will likely get some of those looks. This also means that Justin Gage will less valuable.
Moss will continue to be a threat to put up touchdowns. But the Titans quarterback situation doesn’t seem stable enough for Moss to raise his value considerably.
Moss’ impact won’t be felt just by how many yards and TDs he puts up. He’ll draw attention from the rest of the offense so Chris Johnson, already one of the top fantasy football players in the NFL, will continue to be a significant threat on offense. If possible, you could see Johnson get into the secondary, where he’s most dangerous, even more often than he already is. Of all the players involved, Johnson is likely to benefit the most.
Moss deserves a close look in fantasy football over the next month. The Titans schedule has teams like the Texans, Redskins and, Jaguars that have struggled against the pass.
