Packers WR Donald Driver conceded on Tuesday that he would likely miss Sunday's game against the Cowboys in Week 9 and head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed on Wednesday that he would indeed be out. Donald Driver Injury Has Him Out Week 9; How To Replace Him In Fantasy Football?
WR James Jones will likely take Driver's spot and you may not see much of a dropoff in production. Jones has 284 yards receiving this year to Driver's 307 yards. Jones is also averaging nearly four yards more per catch. There are reasons to think he may be even better than Driver.
The Packers enter Week 9 against the Cowboys who have been reeling this year. It may be a good opportunity for Green Bay to light it up.
As for Driver’s injury, he’s on pace to miss just one game but as SB Nation’s Acme Packing Company points out, the injury may linger.
Driver is on crutches and “playing the last two weeks has made it worse.” He’s expected back after the bye week, but it sounds like something that could linger.
