So Randy Moss is now a Tennessee Titan. After all the speculation over the last few days, it turns out that the Titans, who ranked 23rd in the waiver claim pecking order, was the only team to put in a claim. The Titans have had problems finding quality receivers for years, but just this year they seemed to have found some players who could get the job done. But with Tennessee making a serious playoff run, they couldn't pass on Moss. And for good reason, mainly Kenny Britt has a hamstring injury and it's unknown how long that will sideline him, but he'll miss the Week 10 game against Miami.
Fantasy Football News Roundup, Week 9: Randy Moss Is A Tennessee Titan
Checking in on the fantasy news of the day for Week 9. Wouldn’t you know, we have Randy Moss news.
The Titans focus on offense still centers around Chris Johnson, but teams are starting to game plan for him - and while not exactly stopping him, they have managed to slow him down a bit. So Moss' entry into the lineup should not only help Johnson (and Johnson owners) but it could be a boon to Vince Young's fantasy numbers.
The guys over at Music City Miracles are very happy about getting Randy Moss. Note for fantasy owners though, the Titans are on a bye this week, so none of the fantasy goodness expected out of this move will happen until Week 10.
- Good news for DeSean Jackson owners, the Eagles wide receiver has returned to practice. It's still unknown if he'll play this week, here's what Jackson had to say about the possibility.
“We’ll see,” Jackson said when asked if he will start. “Go out through the week and see how I do and things like that. So it’s still only Wednesday so we still have a couple days to kind of get a feel for how I’m doing and things like that.”
- If you have the Raiders as your fantasy defense, take note - star cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha missed practice and his status is debatable for this weekend.
Asomugha missed practice Wednesday because of a sprained right ankle, but coach Tom Cable is hopeful the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback will be able to play in the Raiders’ critical AFC West showdown with first-place Kansas City on Sunday.
If Asomugha can't go, that's good news for owners of Chiefs passing game players, particularly Dwayne Bowe.
- Wide receiver Austin Collie returned to practice for the Colts, but it's unlikely he'll play this week. Also on the Colts front, receiver Anthony Gonzalez is hurt again and could miss significant time. Running back Joseph Addai is still probably a few weeks away from returning to the lineup, and reserve running back Mike Hart could also miss time. Colts blog Stampede Blue has all the details.
- After being handed the featured role in Arizona last week, Beanie Wells is battling injury this week. His status is in doubt, keep an eye on that injury as the week progresses. Tim Hightower could see significant time this week if Wells can't go.
