The Indianapolis Colts placed former first round pick WR Anthony Gonzalez on injured reserve today with a ligament injury in his left knee. This is the second straight year Gonzalez will finish the season on IR. On the Colts’ friday injury report had Gonzalez listed as questionable, meaning he supposedly had a 50-50 chance of playing. Shows how much you can trust NFL injury reports.
Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez Out For The Year
Gonzalez is one of five players the Colts have left home as they traveled to Philadelphia for today’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Running backs Mike Hart and Joseph Addai were also left in Indy. WR Austin Collie has traveled with the team, but is still listed as questionable who apparently means he could do anything from play to be placed on IR.
The Colts injury situation is only exacerbated by the ridiculous position they’ve been put in by the NFL’s schedule makers. After playing on Monday night, they have to travel to the east coast on a short week to play a team coming off their bye.
