Fantasy Football News, Week 16: Andre Johnson Will Not Play For The Texans

Houston Texans star wide receiver Andre Johnson has been listed as inactive for the Texans today.

Despite speculation that Johnson would be able to overcome his ankle sprain for today's match up versus the Denver Broncos, he was deactivated by the team. Apparently the injury is too painful for Johnson to even test prior to today's game, something that he was planning on doing prior to the deactivation. Jacoby Jones is set to start in place of the injured Johnson.

Johnson missed week four of the season with an injury. Battling ankle injuries all season, Johnson still put up respectable numbers heading into this week for the season: 86 receptions, 1216 yards and 8 touchdowns. Still, Johnson has had an up-and-down season for the Texans as week-to-week his numbers either grown exponentially or decrease expotenitally. Last week Johnson had only 58 yards (and a touchdown) but the previous two weeks he had 140 and 149-yards respectively, though the two weeks before those he had 56 and 32-yards respectively.
