Each Saturday, we’ll check around the Web for fantasy football projections from various experts and authorities to help you prepare for your matchup on Sunday.
Checking In With Yahoo And ESPN Fantasy Football Projections For Week 3
One pair of players is jumping out this weekend: Quarterback Tony Romo and receiver Miles Austin of the Dallas Cowboys. That makes sense if you watched the Redskins roll up 426 yards passing last week in the loss to Houston, which plays host to Dallas this weekend.
ESPN is projecting that Romo will pass for 434 yards and his top target, Austin, will catch 12 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown -- pure fantasy football gold if you’re in a points-per-reception league. Yahoo, meanwhile, has Austin as the top wide receiver matchup this weekend, based on Houston’s inability to contain wideouts so far this season.
Another player jumping out on the fantasy football projectsions: Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick. He’s on a lot of players’ radar anyway, but check out this breakdown from Yahoo:
Jags giving up 314 yard and 2 TDS to QBs so far and have a slow defense, so good news for Vick.
Yahoo lists Vick as having the best matchup of the weekend. ESPN isn't quite as high on the Eagles quarterback, but they do project that he'll throw for 191 yards and two touchdowns. And really, who or what can predict what Vick will do if he has to tuck the ball and start running?
