For those catching up late on this Saturday, here are ESPN’s fantasy football most added and most dropped NFL players. Wide receivers top the drop list this week, with a mix of receivers and running backs topping the most added list.
ESPN Fantasy Football Most Added/Dropped Players: NFL Week 3
This list is generally a pretty good indication of who the hot players are on a weekly basis. After the jump, I’ve listed why each player is a big add or drop during Week 3.

Most Added
- 1. WR Kevin Walter: With All World WR Andre Johnson questionable this weekend, Walter should see extra looks from Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub.
- 2. RB Jason Snelling: When Jerius Norwood went down with a season ending injury early last weekend, Snelling stepped in in a big way, rushing for three touchdowns and 129 yards. Add in a Michael Turner groin injury last week too and Snelling looks great as a possible #2 fantasy running back.
- 3. RB Mike Tolbert: Another injury replacement, Tolbert rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns last week for the San Diego Chargers. He replaces an injured Ryan Mathews this week.
- 4. Dolphins defense: With Braylon Edwards not starting because of a DUI arrest, New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez will have limited receiver options. Miami has the league's sixth best pass defense through two games, so it would be a wise move to start the Dolphins D against the Jets.
- 5. WR Mark Clayton: The veteran wide receiver was added by quite a few fantasy football players but that doesn't mean he's a great start this week. Clayton will be going against Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha, so starting him this week won't be wise. However, with Rams QB Sam Bradford favoring Clayton in the passing game, he should probably be picked up if you have an extra spot. Just don't start him this week.
Most Dropped
- 1. WR Jabar Gaffney: With five receptions through two games, Gaffney is falling out of favor as Denver's potential #1 WR.
- 2. WR MIke Williams: A thigh bruise plus a one catch effort last week means the Seattle version of WR Mike Williams isn't a sought after free agent.
- 3. WR Devin Aromashodu: The Bears WR won't see much action this week after being benched for all of last week. He doesn't play the slot well, which dramatically reduces his chances for snaps.
- 4. Panthers defense: Carolina against the Bengals this week isn't a good matchup for a defense that has been playing sub par as it is.
- 5. WR Legedu Naanee: After a big week 1, Naanee only had one catch last week. He's a fringe fantasy player at best now.
