Will Michael Vick Continue To Be A Fantasy Football Superstar?

He’s a fantasy football dream.

Now that he’s been named the starter, how long can we reasonably expect him to keep this up?

Here’s what NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock said:

“I’ve watched impressive play from Vick for 10 consecutive quarters. I trust the tape more than I trust the numbers, and they’re both very, very good. At this point, Vick is playing at an extremely high level and he’s doing it with consistency. Unless he reverts back to the wildly erratic QB from Atlanta, I would expect to see him perform at a high level throughout the year.”

There’s no doubt he’s playing at a high level but I’m inclined to look at his past seven years in the NFL as an indicator of how he’ll play rather than the last three games. Vick, in his career, has completed 54 percent of his passes while he’s eclipsed 60 percent in Philadelphia.

Maybe Mayock is right and Vick keeps this up all year but if past performance means anything you can expect those numbers to drop at some point.
