Tuesday means it’s time to plan your waiver wire moves for the week. Last weekend, as usual, saw a fresh supply of hopefuls on the fantasy football scene, guys who made a big splash and hope to repeat their performances throughout the season. But will they? That’s always the question when grabbing players off the wire.
Fantasy Football Week 6 Waiver Wire: Tebow Is A Starter Now
Week 6 brings us some new names on the waiver wire including the much-discussed Tim Tebow.
So we turned to our partner, playthisguy.com, for some fantasy advice. They surveyed 23 sources of fantasy football waiver wire advice, and compiled their results into a top 10 list.
The big name this week is Tim Tebow, who injected life into the Broncos offense and almost pulled out a victory. As of today, Tebow is replacing Kyle Orton as the starting quarterback in Denver. He may be the biggest name, but is he the best bet for a waiver wire move? It's tough to say, Tebow will certainly score some touchdowns along the way with his feet, but can he use his arm to direct a pro offense? If you're desperate for help at quarterback in a deep league, you might jump on Tebow. Otherwise, even though he's the second-ranked 'add' on the list, use caution.
Leading the add list this week is running back Jackie Battle for the Kansas City Chiefs. After the Chiefs lost Jamaal Charles for the season all eyes turned to Thomas Jones and Dexter McCluster. Neither truly seized the opportunity, but last week Battle made the most of his chances with a huge performance. No reason he shouldn't see more action down the road.
There are some other quarterbacks making good recently, and if they're available in your league, take a look. They include Matt Cassel and Curtis Painter.
