Week six of the 2011 NFL season kicks off in a few hours, which means fantasy football owners are likely scrambling for some last minute lineup suggestions. We are approaching the halfway point of the fantasy football regular season, which means every sit and start recommendation could mean the difference between enjoying the fantasy football playoffs and simply waiting for the real playoffs.
Fantasy Football Week 6 Advice: Sit, Start Projections For RBs
Week six is the second bye week with Arizona, Denver, Kansas City, San Diego, Seattle, and Tennessee all on the sidelines. This is not the worst week in the world for running back byes, but a few decent backs are out. Among others, you will not be able to use Beanie Wells, Chris Johnson, or Ryan Mathews. All things considered, that is not too bad.
Nonetheless, injuries and lost jobs mean there are some tough decisions to make at the running back. Everybody knows that they should be starting Adrian Peterson, Ray Rice and Darren McFadden. The question now is what sleepers do you start?
Sleepers
Depending on the inactive list for Sunday, I would actually suggest both Tim Hightower and Ryan Torain as legit starting options. The Eagles rush defense is fairly abysmal and I think that no matter which of these two gets the start, both could be in for solid performances. Hightower is questionable so you will want to check the inactive list. If you have BOTH Hightower and Torain, if you need a flex running back, I actually think starting both of them might not be such a bad idea. The Eagles rush defense can be that bad.
Colts running back Delone Carter is another interesting sleeper option. He has gotten a good number of carries aside from Joseph Addai, and with Addai sidelined for Sunday, he is worth considering if you are short at running back. Carter likely would lose some carries to Donald Brown, but given how much more work he has gotten than Brown, I wouldn't use that as a reason not to start him.
Earnest Graham is one final sleeper. He will be getting the snaps in place of LeGarrette Blount and will likely be leaned upon quite a bit against the Saints. Graham is an excellent receiver out of the backfield, so even if he doesn't pile up a huge rushing total, he will make up for it in the passing game.
