While many NFL teams are figuring out where they sit a third of the way into the season, fantasy football owners are approaching the halfway point of their regular season. You are at a point of either building towards the playoffs or concerned about a potential fire sale. With six teams on bye this week (Arizona, Denver, Kansas City, San Diego, Seattle and Tennessee), the lineup decisions get a little more difficult.
Fantasy Football Week 6 Advice: Sit, Start Projections For WRs
The wide receiver position will be without some talented players this week, including the likes of Larry Fitzgerald, Dwayne Bowe, Brandon Lloyd and Vincent Jackson. You know to start guys like Calvin Johnson, Wes Welker and Greg Jennings. You seek out fantasy wisdom to make the tougher calls in your lineup. Below we have thirty top projections at wide receiver courtesy of numberFire.com. As you go through those, here are some of the intriguing sleeper possibilities at wide receiver. Whether you are considering guys on your bench or waiver wire possibilities, these are wide receivers to consider.
Sleepers
Colts receiver Pierre Garcon is likely already on somebody’s bench, and if he is on yours, he is a very interesting possibility this week. The Bengals don’t present a particularly great matchup, but Garcon has established an unmistakable rapport with QB Curtis Painter. The Colts season is going in the tank, but Garcon is becoming a fantasy force with Painter.
Ravens rookie wide receiver Torrey Smith has been hit and miss this season. He blew up for three touchdowns in week four against the Rams and followed that with one receiving yard against the Jets. He faces a Texans defense that has enough question marks to make him a possible start at your flex spot. Consider him if you are really looking for something there.
Beyond that, wide receiver really is a roll of the dice position from week to week. 49ers receivers Ted Ginn and Kyle Williams are deep, deep sleepers, with Williams being the option with more upside. Kevin Walters likely has more upside than Jacoby Jones while Andre Johnson remains out.
