Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best sat out Wednesday's practice as he continues to recover from the concussion he suffered during the Lions Sunday loss to the 49ers. This is Best's second concussion in three months and odds are high that he will not play this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. Best is off to a slow start as is, with his big effort against the Chicago Bears, a big 60-yard reception and not much else for now.
Jahvid Best Injury Update: Lions Running Back Sits Out Practice With Concussion
If Best is unable to go this Sunday, Maurice Morris would get the start in his place. The team acquired Ronnie Brown via trade earlier this week, but Brown still has to take his physical. Until Brown takes his physical he will not be allowed to practice. That does not bode well for his playing chances this Sunday. If Brown is unavailable, Keiland Williams would be the primary backup to Morris.
Neither Williams nor Morris have seen a lot of touches this season. Given the bye week approaching, Morris is a solid enough option, although it is more if the Lions can grab a lead against the Falcons and try and run some clock.
