New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs returned to practice on Monday as the Giants come out of their bye week and prepare for the Miami Dolphins. Jacobs missed the Giants last two games with a sprained MCL but appears to be on the fast track to getting back on the field this Sunday.
Brandon Jacobs Injury Update: Giants RB Returns To Practice
Ahmad Bradshaw handled the bulk of the carries in Jacobs absence and had his biggest performance of the season right before the bye week. Bradshaw rushed for 104 yards and three touchdowns in the Giants 27-24 victory over the Bills. Prior to the injury, Brandon Jacobs had operated primarily as Bradshaw's backup, averaging a little over nine carries per game and 3.1 yards per carry.
Although the return of Jacobs hurts Ahmad Bradshaw's fantasy value to some extent, Bradshaw remains the lead guy. He will lose some carries, but to date he has been a more effective runner than Brandon Jacobs.
On a side note, the Giants are also getting back right guard Chris Snee. This should also boost the Giants running game as they look to get their offensive line healthy coming out of the bye.
