One quarter of the season already gone. You wait so long through the offseason for the regular season games to arrive, then they blow past you in a blink of an eye. With four games in the books, you got a pretty good idea of where your current roster is heading. Whether it’s fine-tuning your team after a strong start, or trying to recover from a disastrous beginning, the waiver wire is the place to go.
Fantasy Football Week 5 Waiver Wire: Torain, Ridley Hot Commodities
A couple of running backs are hot on the waiver wire in Week 5; plus a few more players you should be thinking about.
SB Nation partner, playthisguy.com, has passed along their top 10 adds off the waiver wire for Week 5. They surveyed 22 sources of waiver wire advice and gathered that into their consensus picks.
Ryan Torain went off last week after being a non-factor in the Redskins running game through the first three weeks. 'Skins coach Mike Shanahan benched Tim Hightower in favor of Torain, and he responded with 135 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. We could have a full-blown running-back-by-committee in Washington, and the Redskins love to run the ball. Torain makes a nice flex or fill-in option.
We were pushing running back Steven Ridley last week, and he delivered with 100 total yards plus a touchdown. If he's still available, get him. Laurent Robinson had a big day for the Cowboys and has cemented the third spot in the Cowboys wide receiver corps. Dallas passes a lot and effectively, but be careful because after the bye both Dez Bryant and Miles Austin could be much healthier, diminishing Robinson's targets.
