Fantasy Football Week 5 Quarterback Projections: Cam Newton A Strong Play
Week 5 is the first week when teams are on a bye. See how that shakes up the projections for fantasy football.

Is your main quarterback on a bye this week? Is there a backup worthy of starting? We check into the Week 5 projections from our partner, numberFire.com. Their super-computer has all the facts and figures that it crunches up with mathematical algorithms, then projects a player’s worth for the weekend.
We know all about the top three, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Philip Rivers. But rookie Cam Newton is making a strong push in fantasy and slides into the fourth spot this week. That's impressive work for the rook, so go ahead an play him. Andy Dalton is another rookie that is making his mark, the computer likes him as the twelfth quarterback when the Bengals battle Jacksonville.
Matt Hasselbeck has made a good showing so far this season, even after losing Kenny Britt. The computer doesn't like his matchup with the Steelers though, but he's been defying expectations so far. In a battle of former Philadelphia quarterbacks, the computer has both Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb pretty low in the rankings.
* Fantasy Points Projections are based on the Yahoo! and ESPN default scoring settings. Quarterbacks are scored with 1 point for every 25 passing yards, and 4 points for every touchdown. For running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends, they are scored with 1 point for every 10 total yards, and 6 points for every touchdown. This is a non-PPR projection.
Injured players appear on the list, this is their projection IF they play.
