Christian Ponder Probable With Injury To Non-Throwing Hand

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder had his left hand stepped on during last week's game against the Green Bay Packers. However, that is his non-throwing hand and it didn't change his participation in practice this week. He is probable for Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders.

Ponder has put up a typical rookie performance since he took over for Donovan McNabb in Week 6. But to be fair, two of his three starts have come against the Packers. He's completed less than 50 percent of his passes in those two games, but against the Carolina Panthers he completed 18-of-28 passes for 236 yards and one touchdown.

Ponder faces Oakland’s No. 22-ranked pass defense on Sunday and that could go a long way to help him build up his confidence in the league. Results similar to what he put up against the Panthers could be expected.
