Fantasy Football Week 12 Advice: Sit/Start Projections For RBs

Week 12 of the 2011 NFL season is back after a few days off following a Thanksgiving tripleheader. The big at the running back position heading into Sunday's games is that all-world Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been downgraded to out for the Vikings-Falcons game. Toby Gerhart will start in his place and is a solid option in place of AP.

While Adrian Peterson is out for Sunday's game, Joseph Addai is likely returning following a hamstring injury. He is expected to handle the bulk of the load against Carolina, although if the game turns into a shootout, it will be tough to see Addai putting together a solid performance.

Fantasy football playoffs are only a couple weeks away, which means teams are scrambling through last minute sit/start decisions, hoping to find the best sleepers still on the market or on their bench:

Donald Brown, Colts: This would be one of the bigger rolls of the dice with Joseph Addai reportedly planning on carrying the full load on Sunday. However, given how hamstring injuries can act up quickly, Brown could be worth a flex position if you are desperate for bodies. I suspect most teams have enough options to not roll the dice on Brown, but consider him an option.

Toby Gerhart, Vikings: He was a big waiver wire pick-up and is worth a start with Adrian Peterson on the sideline. Gerhart is not the best running back in the NFL, but he is going to get a lot of carries as the number one back. That is not something most bench/free agent options can guarantee.
