Week nine of the NFL season is coming to a close as we await the Monday Night Football contest between the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears. While some folks are looking for a few last points to secure a last-minute fantasy football victory, most have begun looking ahead to week ten and their upcoming matchup.
Week 10 Fantasy Stats: Where Can We Expect Big Performances On Sunday?
Preview and highlighting the best -- and worst -- fantasy performances from Week 10.

Over the course of this week we will provide you with some previews of potentially big fantasy matchups, and also break down the notable performances as they happen on Sunday and Monday. Every week there are at least a couple monster performances that come out of nowhere to create a stunning fantasy upset. Add in the return of Cam Newton and Steve Smith to the field, and we likely know where some of these matchups will be coming from this weekend.
As we leave week nine, we have learned a few more things about the league that we can apply to future fantasy projections. First and foremost, the Green Bay Packers have no use for defense. They may score a ton of points, but they will also give up a good deal of points. If your fantasy quarterback is facing the Packers, do not fret at all.
We also have further confirmation that the 49ers rush defense remains filthy. Although Roy Helu grabbed 14 receptions out of the backfield, he was held to 41 rushing yards. The 49ers have not given up a 100-yard rushing running back in 30 games and they have not given up a rushing touchdown in nine games.
The Oakland Raiders may have numerous question marks in terms of actually winning games, but they remain a fantasy force. Carson Palmer was not pretty on Sunday, but he found a way to get Jacoby Ford involved in the Raiders offense. Michael Bush proved why he is one of the best backup running backs in the NFL. And, Sebastian Janikowski returned from a hamstring injury and did not look the worse for wear.
Over the next week we’ll break down some possible sleepers, as well as other generally big performances. Sunday and Monday we’ll follow that up with a breakdown of all the pertinent fantasy performers.
