Adrian Peterson Questionable With Sprained Ankle

Three weeks after sustaining a high ankle sprain against the Oakland Raiders, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson returned to practice on a limited basis this week and is "Questionable" for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.

Peterson declared himself 80 percent on Friday, but hopes to play against a Lions defense that will is allowing 125 rushing yards per game and will be playing without Ndamukong Suh and possibly Nick Fairley on Sunday.

“I feel like I’m still kind of moving fast, but then again, it’s a little gallop. I don’t mind. If I’m feeling good, I don’t mind running down the field Sunday, galloping, as long as I get to the end zone.”

Missing two games has dropped Peterson to 11th in the NFL in rushing yards with 872 yards, but his 11 touchdowns still rank third behind Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (13) and Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy (12).
