Kevin Smith Questionable With Ankle Injury

After missing the first two practices of the week, Detroit Lions running back Kevin Smith tested his sprained ankle on Friday and is listed as "Questionable" for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Smith suffered a high ankle sprain during a Thanksgiving Day loss to the Green Bay Packers, but was able to play in last Sunday night's loss to the New Orleans Saints, carrying the ball six times for 34 yards and a touchdown and catching six passes for 46 yards out of the backfield.

According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Smith pulled up while running a pass route during Friday's practice and immediately left the field. The inability to complete a full practice puts Smith's availability for Sunday in doubt, meaning Maurice Morris could see more playing time against the Vikings.

Morris is second on the Lions with 268 rushing yards and has added 24 receptions for 217 yards out of the backfield. The 32-year-old has one touchdown rushing and receiving this season, his third with the Lions after spending the first seven seasons of his career with the Seattle Seahawks.
