Houston Texans wide receiver Kevin Walter is listed as "Questionable" for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals after being unable to practice on Friday due to an illness.
Kevin Walter Ill, But Expected To Play Against Former Team
Despite the illness, Walter is expected to start against the Bengals, who have the league’s 10th-ranked pass defense despite having lost shutdown cornerback Jonathan Joseph to the Texans in free agency after the lockout ended.
With Andre Johnson out with a left hamstring injury, the Texans will need Walter on Sunday. The veteran has 28 receptions, second-most among Texans wide receivers behind Johnson, for 325 yards and two touchdowns this season. Walter caught 30 passes for 296 yards and a touchdown in 43 games over three seasons with the Bengals before signing with the Texans in 2006.
Jacoby Jones will start opposite Walter on Sunday. In 12 games, Jones has 22 receptions for 387 yards and two touchdowns.
