Nate Washington Questionable With Ankle Injury

An ankle injury kept Tennessee Titans wide receiver Nate Washington out of this week's practice and has him listed as "Questionable" for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Washington characterized the injury as a high ankle sprain and said he would play if the decision were solely up to him, Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean reports.

“If this was an individual decision, of course I would say I’m playing,” Washington said. “But it is not just my decision. If I have to be a cheerleader, I am going to be the best cheerleader. But if I am cleared to play I am going to give it everything I’ve got.”

Washington has emerged as a preferred target for quarterback Matthew Hasselbeck, leading the Titans with 53 receptions for 668 yards. Washington's four touchdowns rank second on the team behind Damian Williams for the team lead.
