The Minnesota Vikings had two notable names on the questionable list for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. Although the Vikings have officially announced that running back Adrian Peterson will miss his third straight game, quarterback Christian Ponder will start today.

Ponder was listed as questionable after suffering a hip pointer in last Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos.

Ponder is in his rookie season with the Vikings and has found himself in the starting quarterback role in Week 6 after the Donovan McNabb experiment did not pan out. The first-round draft pick is in search of his second career win, although the Vikings are currently in a skid, having dropped four straight games.

Entering Week 14, Ponder has nine touchdowns against eight interceptions. He has thrown for 1,522 passing yards and holds a 76.6 passer rating.

Minnesota's inactives for Sunday's game are RB Adrian Peterson, CB Chris Cook, LB Xavier Adibi, OL Brandon Fusco, OL DeMarcus Love, TE Allen Reisner and DE D’Aundre Reed.
