Fantasy Football Week 15 Tight End Projections: All Hail The Gronk
The fantasy playoffs are here and the pressure is on to get the right guys into your fantasy lineup. Who are good bets for Week 15?
2011 has been the apex of a recent trend in the NFL - the re-birth of the passing threat tight end. For many years in fantasy football, it seemed like the only choices were Tony Gonzalez and one or two other guys who got hot. Then Jason Witten, Antonio Gates, and Dallas Clark joined the fray. Now, circa 2011, there are plenty of passing threat tight ends in the league, some of them scoring like wide receivers. Who in this bunch looks promising for Week 15?
Our partner, numberfire.com, has provided us with projections for 15 top-rated tight ends in Week 15. They determine their projections by feeding the stats and matchups into the computer, and the computer responds with its best estimate.
These projections are live and may change before Sunday’s action. Come back over the next few days until game time to see where your players stand.
Rob Gronkowski is the new king of tight ends and will keep rolling along, spiking balls after touchdowns, as long as Tom Brady chucks them his way. Jimmy Graham in New Orleans is another newcomer to the ranks, although he struggled last game with a back problem. Plenty of other tight end candidates in the projections below.
* Fantasy Points Projections are based on the Yahoo! and ESPN default scoring settings. Quarterbacks are scored with 1 point for every 25 passing yards, and 4 points for every touchdown. For running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends, they are scored with 1 point for every 10 total yards, and 6 points for every touchdown. This is a non-PPR projection.
