Wes Welker Questionable With Knee Injury
The NFL's leading receiver is expected to be in the starting lineup against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Welker was happy that the team was departing a bit early for the Mile High City.
“It’s nice to get there early, get used to the elements, get acclimated to everything and get ready for the game on Sunday,” Welker said on Friday according to Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston. “I don’t know if it’s a huge deal, but it’s still a long flight. I think [it’s good] getting there early and making sure we put ourselves in position, and if there is any acclimating to do, we do it.”
After catching just two passes for 22 yards in the Patriots' win over the Kansas City Chiefs on November 21, Welker has 26 receptions for 311 yards and three touchdowns over the last three games, giving him an NFL-high 100 receptions for 1,339 yards on the season.
