Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson got in another day of practice on Friday, but it was fairly limited as he did not participate in any group drills. He is likely going to be a game-time decision, but it would be a bit of a surprise if he played on Sunday, in my opinion. He is working his way back from a high ankle sprain and given the current state of the 2011 Vikings, it would be foolish to risk further long term injury if he is not 100%.
Adrian Peterson Injury Update: Vikings RB Limited In Practice Friday
Toby Gerhart likely will get the start on Sunday with Percy Harvin operating as the change-of-pace back. They face a Detroit Lions defense that has been middle of the road against the run. The Vikings will be looking to control the clock against the explosive Lions offense. Additionally, Minnesota could be without starting QB Christian Ponder, which could mean even further reliance on the run.
