Gerhart has been solid in relief of Peterson but it remains to be seen how much of a role he will have once AP is back on the field. The team could conceivably go with a bit of a running back by committee depending on how Peterson feels once he gets back in the action. Prior to Peterson’s injury, Gerhart had one game with five carries and eight games with two or fewer carries. He never touched the ball more than five times in those games.

The Saints can put up some filthy numbers inside domes, so even though this is a road game, they have some advantages in the Metrodome. A strong rushing attack is key if the Vikings want to pull the upset.
