Week 6 is upon us and it’s time again to rank the kickers. I’m a believer that past performance is a good indicator of future success with kickers, so here is the list of the top ten kickers YTD, as ranked by fantasy points per game:
Fantasy Football 2012 - Kicker Rankings Week 6
Which kicker should be leading your team in Week 6??

Kicker (TEAM) | Fantasy Points per Game |

Lawrence Tynes (NYG) | 10.8/game |
Stephen Gostkowski (NE) | 10.2/game |
Blair Walsh (MIN) | 9.6/game |
Nick Novak (SD) | 9.5/game |
Shayne Graham (HOU) | 9.4/game |
David Akers (SF) | 9.4/game |
Robbie Gould (CHI) | 9.4/game |
Matt Bryant (ATL) | 9.2/game |
Justin Tucker (BAL) | 9.2/game |
Fantasy Points Against is a measure of the average number of fantasy points allowed by an opposing team, year-to-date. Although, I think this stat is most important for running backs and quarterbacks, the ranking of the kicker data may show us which defenses are most susceptible to kicker scoring. These five teams are allowing the most fantasy points to kickers:
(1) CAR Panthers (11.8)
(2) TEN Titans (10.6)
(3) DET Lions (10.5)
(4) OAK Raiders (10.3)
(5) NO Saints (10.0)
The bye weeks continue in Week 6, so be sure to bench Justin Medlock (CAR), Josh Scobee (JAC), Garrett Hartley (NO) and Robbie Gould (CHI).
Here are our Sweet Sixteen rankings:
Rank | Player (TEAM) |
1 | David Akers (SF) |
2 | Justin Tucker (BAL) |
3 | Greg Zuerlein (STL) |
4 | Matt Bryant (ATL) |
5 | Stephen Gostkowski (NE) |
6 | Phil Dawson (CLE) |
7 | Alex Henery (PHI) |
