A couple tight ends who got off to hot starts to the 2012 season have fallen off a bit the last few weeks. Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta was one of the hottest waiver wire adds a few weeks ago, but he has received just eleven targets over the last three weeks. After scoring four touchdowns in the first three weeks of the season, 49ers tight end Vernon Davis has been targeted just 14 times in the last three weeks and has not scored a touchdown.

But, there are several tight ends who are becoming more and more targeted in their team's offensive game plans, and they are Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph, Texans tight end Owen Daniels, and Cowboys tight end Jason Witten. All three should be rostered in leagues where tight ends are required, or in deeper flex leagues.

Hitting the Bullseye
Jermaine Gresham, CIN
Gresham came into his Week 6 game catching 22 of his 31 targets for 238 yards and a touchdown. He was targeted seven times by quarterback Andy Dalton on Sunday, catching three balls for 68 yards and a touchdown. He gets the Steelers on Sunday night football next week.
Aaron Hernandez, NE
Hernandez was supposed to limited this week, so he may have caught many owners by surprise by his performance on Sunday. Hernandez was targeted ten times by quarterback Tom Brady, catching six passes for 30 yards and a touchdown. In the two games he has started and finished this season, Hernandez has caught 12 of his 17 targets for 89 yards and two touchdowns and scoring double digits in both games.
Kyle Rudolph, MIN
Rudolph caught six of his 11 targets on Sunday, for 56 yards and a touchdown. Thus far in 2012, Rudolph has caught 25 of his 41 targets for just 225 yards and five touchdowns this season. He is on pace for double digit touchdowns and should be starting in leagues which require a tight end, and is a matchups flex play.
Missing the Target
Brent Celek, PHI
Celek has been pretty quiet since his eight catch, on 11 targets, 158 yard performance in Week 2, and that continued in Week 6. Celek was targeted eight times by quarterback Michael Vick, catching just four passes for 33 yards and no touchdowns. The Eagles offensive line gives Vick little time to throw the ball, so Celek could continue to underperform going forward.
