All league scoring formats have some minor differences relating to points per reception, points for reception yardage and so on. But, in my league which is a touchdown heavy league with bonus points for the length of the touchdown, four of the top seven scoring receivers are tight ends, lead by Tony Gonzalez, Vernon Davis, Heath Miller and Martellus Bennett. Just another point to prove how much impact tight ends are having in today's offensive game plans.
Fantasy Football PPR Target Report, Week 4: Tight Ends
Check out which tight ends were the most targeted in week 4.

One tight end who is becoming more important in red zone situations is Buffalo tight end Scott Chandler. Chander was targeted eight times by quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick on Sunday, catching four balls for 62 yards and two touchdowns. Through four games, Chandler has just 12 receptions for 175 yards, but now has four touchdown receptions. if you are looking for a tight end with bye weeks upon us, Chander is owned in just 29% of fantasy leagues.

Hitting the Bullseye
Jason Witten, DAL
A week after I wrote that you should drop Witten, he puts up a breakout game, catching 13 of the 14 balls thrown to him for 112 yards and a score. He looked like the old Witten last night, and I would grab him if you play in leagues that require a tight end each week.
Rob Gronkowski, NE
I was watching a lot of the Red Zone channel on Comcast cable yesterday, and saw Gronkowski drop at least 4-5 balls, so I was surprised to see him finish with five receptions, on 11 targets, for 104 yards and a touchdown. Gronkowski, coming off a 17 touchdown season in 2011, came into the game with just 14 receptions on 18 targets, good for 156 yards and two scores.
Owen Daniels, HOU
The Texans are one of the best teams in the NFL after four weeks, and the reasons for that are two-fold. One, they have one the best defenses in the league; and two, they run the ball very well. And since they run the ball so well, they aren't prone to throwing the ball downfield as much as other teams. One beneficiary of the move to a more ball control offense is tight end Owen Daniels. Daniels caught all six of his targets on Sunday, good for 72 yards and a touchdown. After four games, he has caught 19 of his 28 targets for 232 yards and two scores.
Missing the Mark
Dennis Pitta, BAL
Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco threw the ball 46 times on Thursday night, but only targeted tight end Dennis Pitta two times. Pitta caught none of those targets, but still ranks in the top 5 for the most targeted tight ends thus far. Through four games, Pitta has been targeted 33 times, good for 18 receptions, 188 yards and two touchdowns.
On Sunday, Finely was targeted just five times, catching four of his targets for 54 yards, but no touchdowns. Finley has been a bit of a disappointment this season, as he has just one touchdown, and has been targeted just 27 times in four games thus far. I ranked him as my 5th ranked tight end coming into the season, but he hasn’t performed like a Top 5 tight end through the first four weeks of the season.
