Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports has confirmed that Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) will not play against the Washington Redskins on Sunday. Mendenhall hasn't played since Week 6 after suffering his Achilles injury. He remains on schedule to return in Week 9 against the New York Giants.
Rashard Mendenhall will not play this week, giving Jonathan Dwyer another fantasy boost
Rashard Mendenhall has been ruled out for Week 8, giving Jonathan Dwyer another start. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jonathan Dwyer will get the start for the second week in a row. He burst for 122 rushing yards against the Bengals.
Fantasy Impact: La Canfora is confirming what we more or less already suspected when Mendenhall missed a whole week of practice. Fantasy owners shouldn’t give up on him yet - he’ll take the starting job back once healthy and is a good buy-low candidate for your fantasy playoff run.
Dwyer has one more week of decent flex value before he goes back to the bench. Start him against the Redskins.
