Javon Ringer was placed on injured reserve Friday by the Tennessee Titans due to an MCL injury, Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean reports. Ringer was carted off the field in Week 5 with a knee injury, and was several weeks away from returning to practice according to Wyatt.

To counter the move, the Titans signed safety Tracy Wilson to the roster from the practice squad. Ringer finishes the season with 14 yards rushing on two carries, and 12 yards receiving on three receptions.
Fantasy Impact: Ringer was forced to miss the first weeks of the season due to a serious elbow infection, so it’s safe to say he didn’t quite have the season he had hoped. With Chris Johnson struggling, many predicted he could be a breakout fantasy player this season. That is no longer a possibility.
Ringer’s move to IR, and the fact that the Titans chose to promote a safety instead of another running back, only further solidifies Johnson as the team’s starter. Johnson appears to be over his early season blues, and has now rushed for at least 91 yards in three of his last four games.
Jamie Harper will remain Johnson's backup going forward. Harper has three goal-line touchdowns in his last two games off just 13 carries. While Johnson is still a starting option going forward, Harper should continue to eat into his fantasy value near the end zone.
