Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) has been officially ruled out for Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins. This news is just a formality, as Mendenhall was already ruled out after not practicing all week. He hasn't played since getting knocked out of the Week 6 game with an Achilles injury.
Rashard Mendenhall injury update: Out, fantasy value on hold for another week
Rashard Mendenhall is out for Week 8 against the Redskins. We break down the fantasy implications.

Mendenhall is on track to come back in Week 9 against the Giants. Jonathan Dwyer will draw the start in his place again this week.
Fantasy Impact: Seems like the Steelers are simply being cautious with their No. 1 back, who didn’t make his season debut until Week 4 recovering from ACL surgery.
Mendenhall looked good in his limited playing time, and should resume feature back duties soon. Fantasy owners should be patient and pencil him in as an RB2 next week.
