Trent Richardson injury: Browns RB expected to play, but fantasy value unclear
Trent Richardson is expected to play Sunday when the Browns take on the Chargers despite a ribs cartilage injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Richardson played in Week 7, but was held out in the second half against the Indianapolis Colts because the pain of the injury rendered him ineffective. Head coach Pat Shurmur has indicated his running back is doing better this week, but it is still unclear what type of workload Richardson will receive.
Fantasy Impact: It appears Richardson will be on the field, but just what kind of fantasy value he will have is uncertain. He is healthier than he was heading into last week’s game against the Colts, but the Browns may be even more cautious this week now that they know how the injury affects him.
Factor in the tough matchup against a stout Chargers run defense, and it's hard to recommend Richardson as anything more than a possible Flex option in standard leagues. Look for Montario Hardesty to have a significant role in the game as well.
