Ryan Mathews rushes for 95 yards in bad weather vs. Browns: Fantasy implications
Ryan Mathews rushed for 95 yards on 24 carries during the Chargers’ loss to the Browns on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Mathews’ rushing output was his highest since returning from a broken clavicle in Week 3. It was his second game with over 100 total yards on the season.
Fantasy Impact: Mathews’ 4.0 yards per carry is pretty encouraging considering conditions and the fact that the Browns were geared against the run. In general, he has been effective out of the backfield for the Chargers, but has yet to turn in a monster fantasy performance.
Next week's game against the Kansas City Chiefs will give Mathews a chance to break out. The Chiefs are giving up an ugly 4.7 yards per carry on the season, and are in danger of falling apart as a squad.
