Peyton Hillis returned to action in Week 8, and his presence seemed to take away from Jamaal Charles workload. Romeo Crennel said after the game, “He (Hillis) was somewhat effective. When a guy’s effective, we kind of stay with him a little bit,” trying to explain why Charles wasn’t as involved in the offense.
Jamaal Charles sees fantasy value decrease with Peyton Hillis back
Jamaal Charles saw less action with Peyton Hillis back in the lineup. We break down the fantasy implications.

Charles carried the ball five times for four yards, while Hillis picked up 23 yards on four carries. However, Charles played 32 snaps to Hillis’ 13.
Fantasy Impact: Crennel’s comments didn’t exactly add up upon further review. Hillis might have picked up a few good runs, but Charles still saw almost three times as many snaps. He just wasn’t given the ball.
The Chiefs offense is in complete disarray, but they need to keep feeding Charles. You can’t give your biggest playmaker eight total touches and expect to succeed. Expect Kansas City to get Charles more involved next week, but pay attention to any news surrounding Hillis and his workload as well.
