Mike Mularkey said on Monday that Maurice Jones-Drew will not play in Week 9 against the Lions. Rashad Jennings remains in control of the workload in the backfield.
Maurice Jones-Drew ruled out for Week 9, Rashad Jennings still the back for fantasy owners to start
Maurice Jones-Drew will not play this week. We break down the fantasy implications.

The fact that Jones-Drew was ruled out so early may be a negative indication of his chances to play in Week 10.
Fantasy Impact: Jennings carried the ball 17 times for 59 yards in Week 8, also adding six catches for 56 yards. The Jaguars keep their No. 1 running back fantasy relevant, so you'll want to continue starting Jennings as long as he's in control of the starting job.
For MJD, we might not see him for several weeks. Check back on his status after Week 9, but unless he starts practicing, he won’t have much of a shot at returning to action anytime soon.
