Stephen Hill became the New York Jets' top wide receiver on the depth chart Wednesday after head coach Rex Ryan announced that Santonio Holmes is out for the season. However, Hill was unable to practice Wednesday due to a hamstring injury of his own. The rookie wide receiver was marked inactive for last week's loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Stephen Hill fantasy value rising despite missing practice Wednesday
Stephen Hill’s fantasy value rose Wednesday when Rex Ryan announced that Santonio Holmes is out for the season. Unfortunately, Hill was unable to practice Wednesday due to an injury of his own. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy Impact: Hill should see a lot more targets in the passing game once he is ready to return to the field. Whether he'll play in Week 5 against the Houston Texans still remains to be seen, however. Even when 100 percent and with Holmes out, it is difficult to recommend Hill as a starting fantasy option in standard leagues. He failed to record a catch in two straight games despite nine targets coming off a breakout two-touchdown performance in the season opener.
