Alex Smith named NFC Offensive Player of the Week: Fantasy implications
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday. We break down the fantasy implications.

The passing total was Smith's second-highest of the season and Monday was his second three-touchdown game of the year. The 49ers have a bye in Week 9 and will face the St. Louis Rams on Nov. 11.
Fantasy Impact: It's hard to find much to complain about but Smith probably wasn't in a ton of fantasy lineups on Monday night. The thing some fantasy owners did not like was the lack of targets for tight end Vernon Davis, who finished with 34 yards on two catches. Davis didn't have a catch in Week 7.
Smith will spread the ball around and could be a decent bye-week replacement in Week 10. However, fantasy owners considering him should probably not bank on another almost perfect game.
