Steve Smith plans to stay with Panthers: Fantasy implications
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith says he plans to stay with the team. We break down the fantasy implications.

Earlier this week, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported that other teams had inquired about Smith but were being turned away. The Panthers are 1-6 and recently fired their general manager. Carolina takes on the Washington Redskins in Week 9.
Fantasy Impact: Smith can say whatever he wants but the Panthers likely have the ability to trade him if they get the right offer. Any move would likely hurt his fantasy value, along with Cam Newton’s. Smith is the top receiver in Carolina and that might not be the case if he’s traded.
Smith, assuming he’s still with the Panthers, is a No. 1 fantasy option this week against Washington.
