Rashard Mendenhall has been officially declared active for Sunday's game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Mendenhall tore his ACL in Week 17 of the 2011 regular season, and has been making a gradual recovery since. He is expected to start, and hopefully rejuvenate what has been a stagnant Steelers running game this season.

Fantasy Impact: The Steelers rank 31st in the league averaging 65.0 yards rushing per game, and dead last at 2.6 yards per carry through four games of Isaac Redman and Jonathan Dwyer shouldering the load. Mendenhall could give the offense a much-needed spark, but the Eagles are stout up front giving up just 3.8 yards per carry on the year. If you can afford to, you might want to leave Mendenhall on the bench this week while he gets his legs underneath him.
