Ryan Mathews steps up for solid fantasy day in Week 5
Ryan Mathews made the most of his playing time against the Saints. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Mathews was sparsely used towards the end of the game when the Chargers were attempting to mount a comeback. Instead of Jackie Battle, it was Ronnie Brown cutting into the workload this time. Mathews looked like a far superior back running the ball, and with the Saints defense in shambles against opposing ground games, he had no problem finding holes. Brown might see more action going forward, but it's hard to believe San Diego won't continue using Mathews in the No. 1 role.
